Recipe: Carnitas

6 lb Pork shoulder, bone in

1 large brown onion

2 cloves fresh garlic

2 - 8 oz cans salsa verde

Salt

Pepper

Granulated garlic

Paprika

  • Place thawed pork shoulder in large dutch oven 

  • Season meat with with salt, pepper, granulated garlic, paprika

  • Add diced garlic, onion and salsa verde to perimeter of the pot

  • Cover with lid and cook in oven at 300 degrees for 3.5 hours

  • Increase heat to 350 degrees, Pull bone out and bake uncovered for an additional 25-30 min 

Serve over bed of greens and a side of beans or in your fave taco!

Tip: squeeze half an orange over the meat before you put it back in the oven to finish it off
